Sheridan Journey: A Vision for Sheridan

Over our 50 year history, Sheridan has continued to evolve and grow to meet the changing needs of Ontario's post-secondary students. Continuing with this evolution, we have a Vision for Sheridan that will build on our current diploma and degree programs with the goal of evolving into a unique undergraduate university.

Self Study Feedback Report

Posted on January 25, 2016 .

We are delighted to be able to share the Self Study Feedback Report from our Reviewers. At the beginning of our Self Study process, we asked the Reviewers, Dr. David Docherty (President of Mount Royal University) and Dr. Ralph Nilson (President and Vice-Chancellor of Vancouver Island University), to provide us with their experience, expertise and input on issues that may be of relevance to Sheridan’s future Universities Canada application. The reviewers were not asked to predict Sheridan’s overall likelihood of success with our eventual application. As such, no determination to this effect is included in this report; however, this report contains valuable and critical insights and suggestions with respect to Sheridan’s journey.

Self Study Report | 2015

Posted on August 28, 2015 .

Over the course of the past year, Sheridan has embarked on a comprehensive institutional Self Study that has resulted in an extensive written report. To assist with our own assessment of our readiness to become a unique undergraduate teaching university, this report outlines the criteria for membership in Universities Canada and we have used those criteria as a basis for the formulation of our Self Study. As with all projects of this nature, this report represents a snapshot in time, while the work and progress we have made to-date will continue to move forward. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this Self Study, you are to be commended for your valuable contributions.

Site Visit Agenda │ September 28-29, 2015

The site visit portion of our Self Study (i.e. our own assessment of our readiness to apply for membership in Universities Canada) is taking place on Monday, September 28th and Tuesday, September 29th, 2015. Our external ‘dress rehearsal’ Reviewers are the Presidents from two universities out west (both of these institutions began as colleges) and they will be joining us on campus for two days, September 28th and 29th, and will be meeting with various Sheridan stakeholders.

As a way of engaging our community in this ‘dress rehearsal’ site visit, we encourage you to join us for the following important open session(s). One session is scheduled for our Sheridan community and another session has been scheduled just for our faculty:

  • Open Session for the Sheridan community (all faculty, staff, and administrators) – Monday, September 28th from 4:30 – 5:45 p.m. in room J210 (the Paralegal classroom) at Davis
  • Open Session for Faculty – Tuesday, September 29th from 11:00 a.m. – Noon in MacDonald Heaslip Hall (the Theatre) at Trafalgar
